Every few months, I go through and update some things that aren't seen on my website. More of things that are done behind the scenes. Sometimes it entails changing a page layout, moving a comma, or even just making sure a link is still valid.
However, one thing that always worries me since I upgraded my Frontpage software, is having the files deleted on the server without me knowing about it.
About a year ago...maybe even longer, I wanted to upgrade my Frontpage software so I would be sure I had the latest in web page layouts. I updated the software on my computer and started to update a few pages.
When I went to upgrade the server with my changes, I didn't realize that it was actually deleting files on the server instead of changing/updating them. Thus, deleting some pictures of a few Drum Corps that I had received from many of my visitors.
Since then, I have been very careful to watch closely of all the things that happens during my updates...either just clicking on the synch button, or just trying to FTP the site.
Right now, I'm waiting for FrontPage to verify all the links on my site...which is a LOT!!! Links that either go external (to other websites) or links that are internal (within my own website).
I guess over the last 8 years, I've had the chance to add a lot of valuable links. Some which I haven't updated in a while, others I update on a monthly bases. Either way, I have a lot of links through-out my site.
If you ever find a link that isn't a good link, please don't hesitate to let me know!!!
